There are more of you than I expected!
It’s come to my attention recently that there are a whole lot more people following this old Substack of mine than I had realised!
If you haven’t caught up with the more recent posts, here’s a little explainer on why there have not been regular updates for a while:

. Over there, I’m writing updates about my upcoming books, about the art and process and gross behind the scenes stuff that comes with publishing, and about being a ghostwriter. Also, I try to be very transparent with my numbers to share what works and doesn’t in terms of book sales, Substack subscriptions, and so on.If you’re looking for fiction, I’m going to be starting an epic superhero (with a twist) serial over there in early 2025. Meanwhile, if you’re here because you actually want to read my true crime stuff… sorry! I have no precise plans or dates on which I will be posting here again. I don’t have plans to close this place down fully, either, so you can always hedge your bets and stay subscribed, and maybe one day you’ll start getting regular updates from me again. That’s about all I can offer.

I know I won’t be doing a true crime book (under my own name, at least - client projects could be different, but you’ll likely never hear about those) at least in 2025, and I won’t be doing a crime fiction novel next year either. 2026 may hold something different in store, but with the serial to keep me busy, we’d probably be talking late 2026 if at all.
