True crime stories about serial killers, cults, and murderers

What is this?

This is a Substack! It’s like part-newsletter, part blog. You can subscribe for regular updates and also read back the previous posts on the feed.

The title above describes what we get up to around here: lots of cases that usually involve murder! I try to give a good mix of more well-known cases with those you might not have heard of, all from the UK. I’m covering each county across England and will expand to other UK locations later.

It’s free to read all of the cases so far. If you want to take part in discussion, you have to be a paid subscriber; you can also subscribe for free if you just want to read.

Eventually, my plan is to use this Substack as the basis for a series of new true crime books. Founding members get the first book for free.

Who are you?

I’m Rhiannon D’Averc, writer of true crime, crime/romance, and ghostwriter of many a true crime or crime/mystery/thriller book. I’m available as a ghostwriter or a coach if you want to write your own book. My book about Dennis Nilsen was a bestseller on Amazon.

What’s with all the Leslie Knope gifs?

Two facts:

  • true crime is depressing sometimes

  • I really like Parks and Rec

Thus, Leslie Knope gifs to lift the mood. I’ve long been of the opinion that there is a Leslie Knope gif for every conceivable situation, and I’m out here proving that one gif at a time.
